The 3arif.ai knowledge base has grown significantly since launch. Here is a full accounting of what is now searchable, what was recently added, and what is coming next.

As of June 2026, the 3arif.ai knowledge base holds over 350,000 passages from more than 55 authenticated scholarly works. Here is the current breakdown by category:

What's New Since Launch
The History Library — 83,000+ Passages
The biggest single addition: Ibn al-Athīr's al-Kāmil fī al-Tārīkh — the most comprehensive Islamic chronicle ever written — is now fully ingested at 41,647 passages. Combined with al-Ṭabarī's Tārīkh and Ibn Khaldūn's Kitāb al-ʿIbar, the history category now holds over 83,000 passages.
This makes 3arif.ai one of the only AI tools with serious access to the classical Islamic historiographical tradition.
Sīra Sources Added
Four prophetic biography sources are now ingested and searchable in Historian mode:
- Ibn Hishām's al-Sīra al-Nabawiyya (from Ibn Isḥāq)
- Ibn Saʿd's al-Ṭabaqāt al-Kubrā
- Al-Tirmidhī's al-Shamāʾil al-Muḥammadiyya
- Al-Bayhaqī's Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwa
Karbala Sources
Four major sources on the events of Karbala and early Islamic history are now in the library:
- Ibn Aʿtham al-Kūfī's al-Futūḥ
- Shaykh al-Mufīd's al-Irshād
- Al-Khwārizmī's Maqtal al-Ḥusayn
- Ibn Ṭāwūs's al-Luhūf
Mystic Philosophy Sources
The Mystic mode library now includes:
- Ibn ʿArabī's Fuṣūṣ al-Ḥikam — the jewels of wisdom, one of the most important texts in Islamic philosophical Sufism
- Al-Ghazālī's Mishkāt al-Anwār — the niche of lights, al-Ghazālī's esoteric meditation on divine light
Sharīʿa Library Expanded
New fiqh sources added across all four Sunnī schools:
- Al-Hidāya (Ḥanafī standard, the global seminary reference)
- Al-Mughni (Ḥanbalī encyclopaedia)
- Al-Muhadhdhab and Minhāj al-Ṭālibīn (Shāfiʿī)
- Al-Mustaṣfā (al-Ghazālī's legal theory)
- Sayyid al-Sīstānī's Minhāj al-Ṣāliḥīn (Jaʿfarī)

The ingestion queue includes several significant works:
Tafsīr: Madarik al-Tanzil (Al-Nasafi — Ḥanafī tafsīr)

The Selection Principle
Every source in the knowledge base meets three criteria:
- Authority — recognised as authoritative within its tradition. No fringe works, no unverified compilations.
- Completeness — full texts where possible, not excerpts or summaries.
- Verifiability — every passage is traceable to a known author, a known date, and a recognised scholarly tradition.
The goal is not the largest possible corpus. It is the most reliable corpus — a library you can trust to cite from.
